Munnar, a green haven and the hills of Munnar is all set to witness a monumental event in 2018, with the blooming of the Neelakurinji flowers, which occurs once in every 12 years. A natural phenomenon, the blooming is expected to attract a great number of visitors to Munnar. Neelakurinji blooms in 40 or so varieties, a majority of them being blue in colour. The best time for viewing these flowers begins from August to October lasts. In Munnar, one could get an excellent sight of these flowers from Kovillur, Kadavari, Rajamala and Eravikulam, which is also the home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Nature lovers are eagerly awaiting the blooming season when nature would weave its colourful textures in the hills. Situated 1600 m above sea level, Munnar is one of the most beautiful locations of Kerala.
